Five (More) Questions

Not too long ago, I commented on (okay, ranted about) the five questions we often ask one another, we being old acquaintances, or news ones both living abroad.  When I was home this last time, I noticed something funny...

I was asked a slightly different set of the five questions:

Q: How's China?!
A: Read my blog!

Q: When are you coming home?
A: Technically, at the end May, but most likely a few months later.

Q: How's Mike liking his job over there?
A: You know, work is work no matter where you live.

Q: What do you do to keep busy?
A: I'm still studying Chinese, I blog, and I occasionally write restaurant reviews for an expat magazine.

Q: Do you really speak some Chinese? Say something!
A: Xishoujian zai nali? Meaning, where's the bathroom.

Of course, I don't blame friends and family members for asking one or all of the above questions; I'd do the same if roles were reversed. But at a certain point, I felt like a broken record and regretted not wearing some kind of signage with my answers so that we could delve into other topics during our conversation.
